Goalkeeper Brian Bwete Zzigi to retire from active football

Ugandan goalkeeper Brian Bwete will be retiring from active football at the end of the 2021/22 UPL season.

Bwete used his official Facebook page to announce that the Uganda Premier League where his side UPDF FC will be playing against Onduparaka FC will be his last.

“My first game in the Premier League was Between SC Villa and Simba ( UPDF FC) so I apply and request to retire from active football on the last day and game in Uganda Premier League between UPDF ( Simba FC) and Onduparaka FC).

“It is really a tough decision to make ”

“I love you football, I love you Soccer, I love you active football. Will always heart you dear future.”

Bwete has played for Hearts United, CRO Mbale, Kisanja United,SC Villa, URA FC now defunct Lweza FC, BUL FC, Bukavu Dawa of Congo, Zambian side Mufulira Wanderers as well as Ethiopian side Suhul Shire FC.

He will retire on 21st May 2022 the last day of the 2021/22 UPL season at Bombo Military Barracks grounds when his side UPDF FC will face off with Onduparaka FC
