Andrew Ojok Oulanyah replaces late Dad as Omoro County MP

Andrew Ojok Oulanyah has been elected the new Member of Parliament for Omoro county in the recently concluded by elections.

Ojok son of the former late Speaker of Parliament of Uganda Jacob Oulanyah contensted on the NRM ticket and collected 14,224 votes.

His closest contender Simon Toolit Alecha of the National Unity Platform (NUP) collecting 1,633 votes in a race that had five contestants.

The other contestants in the race were Oscar Kizza of ANT, Justine Odong of FDC plus two independent candidates Terence Odonga and Jimmy Walter Onen

The Omoro County seat became vacant following the death of the Oulanyah on 20th March in Seattle Washington a year after he was being voted the speaker of the 11th Parliament.
