Pop singer Shakira has confirmed her separation with Barcelona defender Gerard Pique after 11 years together.
The two confirmed their split on Saturday in statement which states,
We regret to confirm that we are parting ways.
“For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
Earlier this week, rumours of their separation began to circulate in Spain. The split is due to allegations that Pique has been cheating on the Pop singer.
Some reports also revealed that Pique has been staying alone in his own apartment and has been enjoying night clubbing with his teammates who include Rigui Puig.
The pair met in Madrid in 2010 as Spain was preparing for the World Cup in South Africa.
They welcomed their first born child in January 2013 who was named Milan. The Colombian singer gave birth to her second child with Pique in January 2015, also a boy named Sasha.
