Police has arrested former Presidential candidate John Katumba for holding an illegal assembly in Kampala.
Katumba ‘Oyee’ was arrested at Ben Kiwanuka William street in Kampala on allegations that he was inciting the public to join the fight against inflation and high prices of various commodities.
He accused the Ugandan government for failing to solve the economic crisis at a time when students are returning to school.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the former Presidential candidate together with his brother are detained at CPS in Kampala.
The duo are pending charges of incitement of violence and public nuisance.
