Prime minister Honourable Robinhah Nabbanja has confirmed that the Nyege Nyege will take place but with restrictions.
“We all know that the country was previous hit by the pandemic which affected the economy so we look at this as one of the way to help in the recovering economy.”
“Secondly the organizers have spent a lot of time and resources organizing, some tourists who will take part are already in the country those are some of the reasons it will take place but with restrictions.”
“As government we are going to engage the speaker of Parliament together with the Parliament on this matter.” Nabbanja added
Yesterday the Parliament of Uganda had stopped the Nyege Nyege festival from taking place in Jinja next week as they claimed it was one of the ways promoting sexual immorality.
