Oba Kaguta yabuse atya? He missed out on being transported on a bus at the Queen’s funeral. Red Banton

Musician Lubega Tonny alias Red Banton says that President Yoweri Museveni was lucky not to be on the bus that transported African Presidents at the Queen’s funeral.

Red Banton also mourned Queen Elizabeth II whom he revealed as his mother

“Kaguta was lucky not to travel by bus at the Queen’s funeral (Oba yebuse atya). For sure, I wanted to see Kaguta on the bus but i saw Kenya’s Ruto and the one of Tanzania.”

On why he mourned the Queen

“Queen is my mother and so I have to mourn her and celebrate her life. She have seen it all in her life.” Said Red Banton on an interview with NBS TV

Lubega Tonny known to many as Red Banton was born at Butenda (Greater Masaka District)

Nonya Money, Pony Tail, Speed 180, Kakoona and Balogo are some of his popular hits.

His first job in Kampala was being a security guard (Night Watchman) at a night parking yard at Makindye Secondary School.

He schooled from Molly And Paul then joined Katwe Martyrs thereafter he moved to Makindye High School before proceeding to Universal Secondary School.

For starters, he was first nick named Red Boy because of a pair of red sandals, short and red school shirt he wore all times that he came with from Masaka but because of his strong love for Jamaican reggae artist Bujju Banton he decide to stage name himself Red Banton
