Video: Watch Vipers SC players celebrate the victory over TP Mazembe

 

Vipers SC became only the second Ugandan team to progress to the group stages of the CAF Champions league. They join KCCA FC who achieved the fate in 2018.

The Venoms beat five time competition winners TP Mazembe 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw in Lubumbashi on Saturday.

Bright Anukani, Dissan Galiwango, Ashraf Mandela and Olivier Osomba all converted Vipers’ kicks.

Tandi Mwape and Glody Likonza skied Mazembe’s kicks wide

Defenders Issama Mpeko and Ernest Luzolo scored for TP Mazembe.

Meanwhile, Vipers custodian Alfred Mudekereza has kept five clean sheets in five consecutive games four in the CAF Champions league and one against Bright Stars.

The club President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa has always craved for this success and now his side can chill with the big boys on the continent.
