Next Media Services has terminated the employmenr contracts of over 100 employees across their platforms.
NBS TV, NBS Sport Uganda, Sanyuka TV, Salaam TV, Next Radio, Sanyuka TV and Nile Post are all under Next Media services.
Our sources can confirm that Karitas Karisimbi of Chart room program headlines those relieved of at Next Media services.
The others include Tyaba Abubakar, Kyeyune Noah, Nassali Fatia and Aminah Nabukenya, John Kibalizi, Esther Namutamba, Elijah Turyagumanawe and sports analyst Micheal Kigozi among others
The News room department is the most affected with more than 100 employees shown the exit.
According to our sources the Human Resource Manager Paul Lwanga confirmed the news to those sacked on Tuesday evening.
Lwanga reportedly asked the laid off staff to stop reporting for duty effective Thursday, December 1,2022 but would receive the mandatory 3 months’ notice salary in lieu of termination.
Our sources state that the company is responding to difficulties in the economy rendering the company unable to pay salaries.
However, the Naguru based company is yet to release an official statement concerning the development.
