Isa Tibinuma a resident of Bubalagala Village in Bukatuube Sub-county, committed suicide after losing World Cup Final and third place bet.
Before the third place playoff and Final, the 30 year old had sold off his 20 by 45ft land for Shs800,000.
He staked Shs500,000 at Tofer bet house in Bukatuube Sub-county on Morocco win over Croatia on Saturday.
Tibinuma was supposed to get Shs2m in case of a Moroccan win but the African representatives lost 2-1.
After losing the first bet, Tibinuma turned focus to a France win over Argentina in the World Cup final staking Sh300,000.
Lionel Messi’s Argentina prevailed 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 normal time stalemate.
Tibinuma decided to end his life after losing the second bet. He locked himself in his house on Sunday night and took rat poison.
His brother Ibrah Buyinza plus well wishers broke into the house and found him lying on the floor. They took him to a private clinic but his situation worsened prompting them to refer him to Mayuge health centre IV for further management where he breathed his last on Monday.
