Late Serere MP to be replaced by son

Late Serere County MP Patrick Okabe is set to be replaced by one of his sons in the forthcoming by- Election.

NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern region, Capt Mike Mukula says they are ready to listen to the people of Serere county to have one of the sons of the late Okabe replace him for the reminder of his Parliamentary term.

Captain Mukula confirmed the development during the sending off of late Hon. Bishop Patrick Okabe and wife on Saturday in Serere.

The family agreed that Omoding Emmanuel one of the sons out of the three will be running for the seat to replace his father in the 11th parliament.

Deputy speaker Hon. Thomas Tayebwa and Government chief whip Hon Hamson Obua are the other leaders who are in support.

Late Hon. Bishop Okabe and his wife Christine Okabe passed on in a nasty accident that happened in Budaka on Monday 19th December 2022.

The couple was laid to rest in Oburin, Ochapa Town council, Serere district on Christmas Eve.
