A man in the Lira district is allegedly accused of killing his wife over unwashed Christmas shoes.
The incident happened on Christmas Eve (Saturday, 24th) at Woromite Village, Olilo Parish in Itek sub-county, Lira district.
The suspect identified as Denis Ango, a boda boda rider told his wife, Everlyn Acen, 35, to wash his shoes before he went to the bar to enjoy life.
On his return, he found his shoes when they are still dirty.
He asked the wife why the shoes were still dirty, the wife responded that she was sick and that there was no soap.
The husband then started to assault the wife. Acen, was rushed to Rapa Clinic, where she had her last breath.
Acen was a mother of four, including a five-month-old.
Ango was arrested at the railroad on Christmas Day and is now in police custody.
