Mid last year we had the singing duo of siblings Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira represent Uganda in the talent show of Canada’s Got Talent. They did get a standing ovation and made it to the second round of the competition.
The latest we now have in the field of international talent shows is another of our very own Israella Chris the grand daughter of renowned play writer and actor Alex Mukulu who won The Voice Kids Uk.
Israella is the daughter to Musicians Mycho Chris and Gwendolyn Mukulu who are both based in the United Kingdom.
Late December last year, she took part in the six edition of The Voice Kids Uk and emerged the winner. Israella was on Pixie Lott’s team who coached her to victory.
In the blind audition, she sang a classic Georgia on My Mind recorded by Ray Charles in 1960. For the team battle, she alongside her teammates Tommy, Lacey and Eva sang another classic Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper.
For her final performance, she took the audience to church with Crrie Underwood’s How great Thou Art.
The 14 year old Israella praised her coach Pixie for guiding her in the competition.
“She gave me lots of advice and that really stuck with me was to connect with the show emotionally” said Israella
Pixie her coach on the other side also praised the young star for being hugely talented.
“Oh my goodness, Israella is so special, such a raw talent” remarked Pixie who won her fourth series as a coach.
The teenager won a trip to the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida as a prize for winning the competition.
Congratulations to you Israella Chris, the sky is the limit, aim higher little girl.
