Manchester United fans storm Lubaga cathedral to pray for victory against Arsenal

Ivan Kigozi

A contingent of Manchester United fans in Uganda stormed the Lubaga cathedral today morning to pray for their team ahead of their match against rivals Arsenal.

The fans donning Manchester United replica jerseys surprised the congregation as they came through for a special prayer.

A number of Ugandans expressed mixed views about the fans with many questioning why the fans can’t exercise the same love for local sports.

Arsenal will be hosting Manchester United tonight at the Emirates Stadium with both sides enjoying a fine form in the league.

The anticipated clash will kick off at 7:30 pm.

A win will keep Arsenal comfortably at the top of the Premier League table while Manchester United will be aiming for a double over their long time rivals.

Man U fans at Lubaga

Earlier this season, Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Old Trafford and up to date, it happens to be the only defeat tasted by Arsenal this season.

The biggest question is; do prayers have influence on a match result? Have you ever prayed for your favourite team?
