FUFA President Moses Magogo has revealed that former KCCA FC head coach Mike Hillary Mutebi declined to handle the Uganda Cranes when the job was vacant.

Magogo said that Mutebi declined due to personal reasons

“When the job was vacant, he (Mutebi) was offered the job by FUFA and he declined for personal reasons.”

Magogo had earlier stated that Mutebi is the only Ugandan coach who has proven on the international scene

“You really vouch for Ugandan coaches. If fufa had replaced a foreign coach with a foreign assistant, it would be trending attack on FUFA.”

“Apart from Mike Mutebi, no Ugandan coach has proven on international scene. We can do trials with junior teams but not senior team.” Magogo said as he was interacting with fans in Football Classroom WhatsApp group.

Uganda Cranes fans have in the previous couple of weeks called upon the Federation to sack current coach Milutin Sredojevic Micho due to poor results.

The FUFA boss has always defended Micho revealing that the Serbian cannot perform miracles since the team is under transition.
