Driver arrested for transporting 4000 marijuana sticks from Uganda to Kenya

Police at the Lwakhakha screening entry point in Kenya have arrested a trailer driver for transporting 4000 sticks of marijuana.

The trailer driver was arrested on Monday by officers from the Kenya Police service and administrative officers.

The development was confirmed by Bungoma West OCPD David Kandie.

The trailer was travelling from Kampala (Uganda) to Mombosa (Kenya).

officers found four gunny sacks, and upon opening them, they discovered that three of them contained 1,500 brooms of marijuana while the fourth held 1,000 brooms. This find indicates that the driver was attempting to transport a large quantity of the illicit substance into the country.

The driver will be charged and aliened to Sirisia Court. Meanwhile, Bungoma West OCPD has called upon the Police to do thorough searches to vehicles entering Kenya.
