MPs Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana to address the media

MPs Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West) and Muhammad Ssegirinya (Kawempe North) will address the media tomorrow(Wednesday, 29th March) for the first time since their release at National Unity Platform headquarters at 9am.

The two legislators together with the NUP leadership will hold the press briefing at their offices in Kamwokya.

The two MPs spent 524 days in jail, an equivalent of 17 months before they were released by Justice Lawrence Tweyanze in February on a cash bail of Shs20M each.

The MPs, are accused of being behind the wave of machete killings of at least 26 people in greater Masaka in mid-2021.

Following their release from Kigo Prison the two legislators had never faced the media as they were undergoing treatment

Several Politicians and Members of Parliament expressed their opinions after the release of the two MPs.
