Plisner UPL Awards: Tamale, Magera named best of March

SC Villa coach Magera and Simon Tamale scooped the monthly award for March after guiding SC Villa to a five-match winning run in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Magera and Temale was announced winner of the Pilsner Coach of the Month Award on Thursday, April 5 by the Uganda Premier League secretariat, organisers of the league.

SC Villa have had an impressive form in recent weeks as they ascended to the top of the 15-team league table with 40 points from 20 games.

The Jogoos toppled KCCA FC after last Saturday (April 1)’s 1-0 victory over Busoga United. KCCA FC are now second with 37 points from 18 games.

Villa’s next game is against Wakiso Giants on Saturday, April 8.

Meanwhile, Maroons FC goalkeeper Simon Tamale won the Pilsner player of the Month award for his solid performance in goal. Tamale ensured Maroons won three games, drew twice and lost twice in their recent league matches.

Mr safe hands kept three clean sheets with two man of the match accolades against Busoga United and KCCA FC. He beat Allan Kayiwa (Express FC) and Innocent Media (Arua Hills SC ) to the gong.
