Schools to be fined Shs40M over hiking UNEB exams

Schools that will hike Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) fees will be fined Shs40m.

The Acting Executive Director of the board, Mike Nagosya Masikye, said while addressing journalists on registration of 2023 candidates.

” The law allows UNEB to prosecute such law violators in courts of law and once convicted one is liable of paying a fine of UGX 40 millions or imprisonment of a maximum of ten years.” Nangosya said.

Meanwhile, the Registration fees for PLE is maintained at UGX 34,000, UCE at 164 11,000 while for UACE is still at 186,000 for normal registrations.

Late registration will however carry a sur-charge of 100% for PLE and 50% for UCE and UACE respectively between June 1-31 and between July 1-31 late registration at all learning levels will carry a sur-charge of 100%.
