State Minister for labour Charles Engola has been shot dead by his bodyguard at his home on Ring road in Kyanja.
The Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the incident.
“Yes. Go to Kyanja, there is a shooting. A soldier has shot his boss,” Owoyesigire told this publication in a brief telephone interview as quoted by Daily Monitor
According to one of the witness before the bodyguard shot the Minister he revealed how they are paid peanuts
“You pay us little money yet you guys are paid huge sums of money. My children are in the village suffering.”
Afte shooting the Minister and another bodyguard he entered into a saloon and shot himself.
The scene of crime has been cordoned off by security personnel.
