Lango Cultural leaders want son to replace late Minister Engola in Parliament

Cultural leaders in Lango want late Minister Col (Rtd) Charles Engola to be replaced by his son in Parliament.

Engola who was the Member of Parliament for Oyam North Constituency and Minister for Labour, Employment and industrial relations was shot dead by his bodyguard Pte Wilson Sabiiti.

An election to replace Engola will be organized within three months as by the Parliamentary Election Act.

“We should consider a possibility of being replaced by his son in parliament. We implore government to do proper investigation and get us information before the burial,” Robert Ajal, the Prime Minister of Lango Cultural Foundation said as quoted by KFM website

Meanwhile, the government has released the funeral program of the deceased. Engola’s body will be taken to Parliament on Tuesday May 9, before a funeral service is held at Kololo Independence Grounds on May 10 and burial on Saturday, May 13 at his ancestral home in Awangi, Oyam district.
