The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has handed over the body of Pte Wilson Sabiiti to his family.
Burial arrangements are underway at his ancestral home in Mubali Village, Kijura Town Council in Kabarole District.
Sabiiti’s body was delivered to the family at 5:00am Tuesday by UPDF.
Sabiiti killed himself shortly after he gunned down his principal, former State Minister for Labour, Col (Rtd) Charles Okello Engola, on May 2nd.
Since then, the UPDF had retained Sabiiti’s body, citing the need to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances and motives surrounding his actions.
Funeral arrangements are now underway, and mourners have begun to gather to pay their respects. The burial is expected to take place later today.
