Former Uganda Cranes midfieder Kyambadde passes on

The football fraternity has this morning been hit by the sudden death of former Uganda Cranes midfieder Willy Kyambadde.

In 2020, Kyambadde was diagnosed with Liver problem.

Kyambadde is arguably one of the best midfieders that Uganda has ever produced.

His football career came to recognition when he joined Express FC in 1995 from Arua Young.

He later moved to KCCA FC in 2000 before a u-turn to Wankulukuku in 2002. He later sought for green pastures in Vietnam and signed for Dongtan long An FC in 2004.

Kyambadde also played for Jomo Cosmos, Proline before ending his career with Bright Stars FC in 2012 and played a vital cog in guiding the side to earn promotion from the Big League to the topflight division.

He was part of the U23 nation team which reached in the semifinals of All African games in 1999 in South Africa.

Kyambadde won two league titles with Express in 1995 and 1996 with Jimmy Muguwa and two Uganda Cups in 2001 and 2003.
