Police in Mukono are hunting for a woman who allegedly cut her husband’s genitals after getting into a series of domestic misunderstandings.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango has identified the victim as Vincent Sseguya and the suspect as Desire Kisakye Nsimenta who are residents of Kirangira B Cell in central division, Mukono municipality.
Onyango said Kisakye, who managed to escape after she almost chopped off Sseguya’s private parts, will be charged with attempted murder.
The incident is said to have happened at about 4:30am on Tuesday when Kisakye got a sharp knife and cut her husband’s genitals while he was in deep sleep.
“Sseguya alleges that they have had domestic issues ever since he came back from Qatar where he had gone to earn a living. Kisakye had lied to Sseguya that she was pregnant, but he came to realise that she was just faking the pregnancy,” Onyango said.
“Today, during the wee hours, Kisakye systematically picked a knife and attempted to cut off all Sseguya’s private parts. Immediately after that act, she fled to an unknown destination with Sseguya’s documents including a passport, national ID and his smartphone,” the spokesperson added.
Sseguya was rushed to Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital while severely bleeding.
“As Police, we appeal to the public to always solve their domestic misunderstandings amicably and avoid using violence,” he said as quoted by New Vision
While speaking to Sseguya whom we found at the hospital waiting to go to the theatre for surgery, he alleged that Kisakye also attempted to poison him.
“We had separated after realizing that she had diverted the money I used to send her to work on my rentals as I was still in Qatar. However, my parents and other relatives intervened and I allowed her back. Unfortunately, I did not know that she came intending to finish me,” Sseguya said as quoted by New Vision
