Big League side Police FC have part ways with their head coach Angelo Lonyesi and his entire technical staff.

Last season, Police FC narrowly missed out on gaining topflight division football as they finished 4th on the FUFA Big League table.

The Cops also finished as runners up in the Stanbic Uganda Cup following defeat to Vipers in the final last term.

Lonyesi’s assistants Yiga David and goalkeepers coach Kanene Faisal have also been relieved of their duties.

“With their devoted hearts, the Cops came short of top flight return, finishing 4th in the FBL and runners up in the Uganda Cup during their season-long spell in the 2022/23 campaign. We appreciate the out going technical team for it’s tireless efforts in seeing the club reach greater heights and wish them well in their next endeavors.”

“Going forward, the outgoing team will be re-assigned other responsibilities since they still serve as active Police officers.” Read part of the club statement.

The Cops are expected to name Proline FC and Buddu Ssaza team head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa as Lonyesi’s replacement.
