The Police in Ssembabule District are investigating a double tragic incident involving the murder and suicide of a couple over shs 2 million meant for business capital.
The incident involved one Ssekiranda Godfrey a 27-year-old boda boda rider who allegedly murdered his wife, Nalutaya Shakira, and also committed suicide after the wife mismanaged the funds he raised from selling his piece of land.
We have established that the male victim sold his Kibanja at Kinyasi village, Kikoma parish in Ssembabule district, where he raised Ugx 2m, and gave to his wife to open up a business in Kampala,” Police Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga told journalists in Kampala during Monday security briefing.
According to Enanga, It is alleged that the wife after getting the money abandoned the man and relocated her business to Nyendo Masaka, and when the suspect got in touch with her, he strangled her to death.
“After the murder, the jilted lover rode his boda boda up to his home village and committed suicide by hanging, and left behind a suicide note indicating that he used the same rope he strangled his wife with to death, to hang himself,” Enanga noted.
