Uganda Cranes goalkeeper joins Ethiopian Premier league side

Former KCCA FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago has joined Ethiopia Premier League side Hawassa City FC as per Swift Sports Uganda.

Lukwago joins the Ethiopian outfit has a free since he has been unattached to any club following his departure at Ethiopian giants St. George.

He spent the last two seasons at St. George where he won back to back league titles.

Besides KCCA FC and St.George, Lukwago has previously featured for, Lweza FC, SC Victoria University and Proline FC among others.

He was named the best goalkeeper in the league in his debut season having managed 19 clean sheets in the 27 games he played.

His new side Hawassa City is located in the city of Hawassa and was founded in the 1970’s.

Hawassa City are two time winners of the Ethiopian Premier League (in 2004 and 2007) and one Ethiopia Cup in 2005.

Saidi Keni (Shashemene City), Robert Odongkara (Wolkite City) and Alionzi Nafian (Mekelakeya SC) are other Ugandan goalkeepers in the Ethiopian Premier League.
