Territorial Police in Sipi Region and Kapchorwa District are holding a 43-year-old woman over the murder of her husband whom he accused of stealing her cash savings and failing to return it.

The suspect identified as Juliet Chelangat, 43, a peasant of Waror village, Tegeres sub-county is alleged to have assaulted her husband identified as Namawangala Stephen, aged 40, in an incident recorded earlier this month in Kapchorwa district.

According to preliminary police investigations, it is alleged that the suspect, on October 4, 2023, had withdrawn her cash savings worth Shs 200,000 from the Kabati village savings group, to pay school fees for their children.
