Prossy Betty hunted by Ugandan Police for same sex acts and criminal cases

According to Ugandan laws, sexual orientation is a criminal offence. Yes, you read that right as same sex acts are punishable with life imprisonment.

This has seen many LGBTQ members in the Pearl of Africa painfully endure a life lived in fear which is akin to a life half-lived hence thinking outside the box.

With the authorities and the community wishing evil to the culprits, they are left with two options; running to safety when a chance avails itself and living like cockroach.

Prossy Betty Najjemba, a former social worker is among the growing list of Ugandans who have to face the wrath of the unjust law.

Knowing that her days of living a free life were numbered following multiple arrests despite her relocating between Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono, and Masaka districts.

The option of skipping Court appearances was her last card to avoid the iron hands of the law enforcers against same sex relationships in Uganda, hence an arrest warrant being issued on her head.

As you read this, the Uganda Police hotline is open to any information about Prossy, who is currently on the run. Reason, they don’t want her to intoxicate the rest of the public!

By press time, her whereabouts were still unknown but one thing was certain, she is a wanted criminal because President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni signed the Anti- Homosexuality Act.
