Uganda Speed Skating team Flagged off for Eldoret speed skating championship in kenya

The uganda speed skating team flagged off on Friday evening at glamorous ceremony held at the National Council of Sports (NCS) in Lugogo to the Eldoret Speed Skating Championships in Kenya.

The team is composed of 23 skaters from Both the Juniors and senior category were well represented with 17 and 6 skaters respectively.

The team was flagged off by Sarah Chelengat an administrator who represented National Council of Sports General Secretary Dr Bernard Patrick Ogwel urged all the atheletes to keep maximum discipline as they raise the national flag high;

“If you are out there, you are lifting the Ugandan flag so I urge you to maintain discipline at all times but as an athete, you have to believe in yourself as you respect and follow the advice from your coaches.” she said

“After recieving conset from the patents of the atheletes, we as NCS are now happy to flag off the Ugandan team to Kenya and would like to wish the team success in the Eldoret Speed SkatingChampionship,” Sarah Chelengat concluded

Kyazze Muhammad, a parent who is also travelling with the team expressed his delight as he appreciated the NCS guidance in sending the young children to international championships;

“We are so delighted for the help and guidance from NCS which has helped us as parents to send our children in this competition with the assurance of their safety after several engagements with the Council.”

Lastly the team captain Imran Sserumagga promised to guide his team to victory in Eldoret;

“We have managed to assemble a team of Champions, we are going to Kenya to compete for silverware and not to just participate”

The will be captained the the last the experienced Skater Imran Serumagga , in the last time the team managed to win three gold medals from Kenya .
