National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has attacked FUFA President and Budiope East Member of Parliament Hon.Moses Magogo for using security operatives to stop NUP Foot soldiers tournament.

According to Bobi Wine, many youths who were taking part in the tournament fled the venue with serious injuries.

“This past Sunday, young people from the National Unity Platform organised a football match at Mpunde Playground in Budiope East Constituency, Buyende district as part of our nationwide NUP Footsoldiers’ Tournament. Midway the match, security operatives raided and fired teargas and live bullets all over the place. Many of the participants players and supporters alike fled the venue with serious injuries.”

“Incidentally, this area is represented in Parliament by Magogo Moses who doubles as the President of Uganda’s football governing body, FUFA. Magogo, apparently, ensured that the match did not take place. You would expect him to advocate for sports instead of persecuting sports. Naye kijja kuggwa! We shall overcome! Wrote Bobi Wine on his social media platforms

Nubian Li also added his voice to that of Bobi Wine,

“Yesterday all was good in the ongoing National Unity Platform Footsoldiers’Football and Netball Tournament in Buyende District, Budiope East at Mpundu play ground until Hon. Eng. Moses Magogo Hassim Mp Budiope East 2021-2026 sent police who fired live ammunition and tear gas and disrupted all activities. It’s a pity that a whole #FUFA President can act in such a brutal way instead of embracing the idea of developing and supporting young talent in Uganda. What a shame!
