Dungu replaces Mugerwa at Buddu

Buddu have appointed Simon Dungu aka Dunga as their head coach ahead of th 2024 Masaza Cup tournament.

Dungu’s appointment was confirmed on Monday by the two time competition Champions.

Dungu has for the last two years served at 2015 and 2018 champions Ssingo, in 2022 he led them to the 2022 semifinals.

His task will be guiding Buddu to a third Masaza Cup title this campaign.

Dungu replaces Simon Peter Mugerwa who was at the helms during the 2023 Masaza Cup edition in which he led them to the semifinal stage where they lost to Gomba.

Dungu is a Masaza Cup championship winner with Gomba in 2017 and was also part of Mawokota’s technical team that clinched the 2013 championship under head coach Edward Golola.

Dungu has also worked at Mawogola and Busiro in the same tournament.

Dungu guided Kiyinda Boys to the FUFA Big League in the 2022/23 season and also previously worked with KJT and Nkozi University.

The 2024 Masaza Cup tournament is expected to kick off on 22nd June.
