Certified FIFA & CAF Safety and Security officer Dixon Bond Okello expects Ugandan football fans to rip out Namboole Stadium seats on Wednesday.

The refurbished Mandela National Stadium will on Wednesday host two testing matches with BUL FC hosting Vipers SC in a title clash before KCCA FC entertain title chasing SC Villa in the late kickoff.

Okello is however worried that fans will rip off seats in case of refereeing decisions go against their sides

“My major worry as a certified FIFA & CAF Safety and Security Officer, and knowing Ugandans well, is that some fans will definitely decide to stand or jump on seats during matches because of excitement or rip off seats when they don’t “agree” with a decision by the referee
Destroying stadium property, is not only barbaric, but is also a criminal offense that carries jail term.Club fans groups and Uganda Cranes supporters, should be educated about this. All tickets, must have seat numbers and they must always sit on their assigned seats.
Fortunately, Namboole Stadium management are installing several CCTV cameras at strategic positions all over the stadium for surveillance and will also need full support from security agencies to identify hooligans.” Said Okello

Okello wants the culprits who will be found guilty of destroying property at Namboole to be massively punished, banned or jailed.
