Over 150 football Legends to take part at VCWC in Rwanda

The 2024 Veteran Clubs World Championship ( VCWC) is the first of it’s kind where former football stars from across the globe will convene in Rwanda capital, Kigali.

With the clock ticking, the tournament is scheduled to take place from 1st-10th September, 2024 at the new Amahoro Stadium.

Ex- Barcelona player and 2002 World Cup winner with Brazil, Ronaldinho headlines star-studded list of legends coming to grace the maiden edition.

Others include Maicon Douglas, Michael Owen, George Weah, Andrew Cole, Mohamed Mwameja, Juma Mossi, Jomo Sono, Laura Georges, Louis Saha, Amanda Dlamini, Bacary Sagna, Miguel Pauleta, Jay-Jay Okocha, Edgar Davids, Roger Milla, Kalusha Bwalya, Sonny Anderson, Maxwell Cabelino, and Maxwell Gomaa.

According to VCWC chairman Fred Siewe, the association will also embrace gender equality, giving women opportunity to participate at the games.

Riding on five high-level forums of peace, education, investment, health, investment, and tourism these will be organized during the tournament to address social, economic, cultural, and environment al opportunities.

For the success of the championship, VCWC already joined in hands with Government of Rwanda, Ministry of Sports, and the Rwanda Development Board.
