Masaza Cup specialist Ssekabuuza guides St. Julian maiden USSSA National boys’ football title

St.Julian High School Seeta clinched the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) national boys’ football title with a 3-0 win over Amus College in the final that was played in Masaka.

James Ssekate netted a first half brace before Simon Wanyama put the cherry on the icing of the cake with the third from the spot to send the Mukono based school into jubilation.

Ssekate fired St. Julian into the lead in the 14th minute before doubling their advantage four minutes later.

In the 50th minute, referee Joseph Masembe awarded St Julian a penalty and sent off Amus College captain Toto Majub for stopping a goal bound opportunity .

Wanyama was entrusted with the opportunity and calmly completed the scoring.

Meanwhile, joint competition record winners Kitende finished third after a narrow 1-0 win over Bukedea Comprehensive School in the third place playoff, thanks to a Denis Kisiriko sole strike.
