Isabirye replaces Obua as URA FC head coach

Four time Uganda Premier league champions URA FC have appointed Alex Isabirye Musongola as their next head coach.

Isabirye will replace David Obua who was relieved of his duties in April following a poor string of results.

Following Obua’s departure, the tax collectors names Robert Mukasa alias Kiyenje in the interim capacity.

Isabirye returns to URA FC as their head coach for a second stint.

Isabirye has been unemployed since stepping aside from his role at Express FC in February where he had replaced James Odoch.

He is a serial winner having won two Uganda Premier League titles and four Uganda Cups with four different clubs.

During the 2022/23 season, Isabirye guided Vipers SC to a maiden double before he resigned at the start of the just concluded season.

He joined Geoff Hudson (SC Villa), Polly Ouma (SC Villa), Mike Mutebi(KCCA FC), Jimmy Muguwa(Express FC and Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho (SC Villa) who are the other coaches to have won a Cup double.

Besides URA FC and Vipers, Isabirye has previously coached BUL FC, Kyetume FC, SC Victoria University, Soana FC, Kirinya Jinja SS and Somalia’s Horseed FC among others
