Street kids feast on lunch which had been prepared for MPs who boycotted the State of Nation Address by President Museveni at Kololo ceremonial grounds in Kampala on June 6,2024.
On Tuesday, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament (LoP), Joel Ssenyonyi, has declared that opposition members were to boycott President Museveni’s State of the Nation Address on Thursday.
Ssenyonyi announced the decision followed a private shadow cabinet meeting held in the opposition boardroom at parliament on Tuesday.
“The Shadow Cabinet has held a meeting and we have agreed not to attend the State of the Nation Address and budget speech,” Ssenyonyi stated on Tuesday.
Ssenyonyi criticized Museveni’s addresses as predictable and lacking substance, thus not warranting opposition attendance.
The Lop and Co didn’t attend the address an opportunity that saw street kids feast on lunch that had been prepared for the legislators.
