Masaza cup : Crisis continues at Mawokota Camp as players boycott Busiro’s game over unpaid salaries and allowances

Mawokota players are on a strike over unpaid salaries and allowances arrears just few days after the resumption of the 20th edition Airtel masaza cup.

According to reliable sources, after Mawokota’s goalless draw over Buvuma in the match day one of the masaza cup on Sunday in Magyo, the players told the mawokota officials that they want their Arrears to be settled before returning to training ahead of the match day two game against Busiro.

The players also went on to demand a meeting with the Owek Kayima Sarah Nannono who refused to release the fundraising money up to now .

The saga Started after remarkable fundraising event that was held on Tuesday 18th June 2024 at Mawokota Ssaza Headquarters in Kamengo, Butoolo were over 100 Million collected in Cash .

Ugolemwa understands that the extravagance of Owek Sarah Nannono has over taken power and rights from Mawokota team management .

Owek (Nannono) take control of selling tickets on match day’s and mawokota team merchandise but until now she refused to give room for Mawokota management to work and failed to release any coin to the management .

Mawokota are three time Masaza Cup winners following their success in 2005, 2007 and 2013.

During the 2023 edition, their journey ended at the semifinal stage by eventual winners Bulemeezi and kicked off the 2024 campaign with a goalless draw at Buvuma.
