Byekwaso appointed as interim SC Villa head coach

Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa have confirmed the departure of head coach Dusan Stojanovic.

The 17 time league champions have appointed Morley Byekwaso as interim head coach.

The development was confirmed in document from the club Chief Executive Officer William Nkemba on Saturday, 27th July 2024.

“SC Villa has today mutually parted ways with head coach Dusan Stojanovic. Dusan leaves with our sincerest appreciation for steering the club through a very tough season to its 17th league championship. The club wishes him well in his next endeavors and thanks him for his service.”

The Serbian tactician guided SC Villa to their record extending 17th league title last season ending the club’s 20 year title drought.

He replaced Jackson Magera at the helms of Uganda’s most successful football club.

Byekwaso has been serving as Stojanovic’s assistant and will now take over one interim basis.

Byekwaso has previously served as KCCA FC head coach and also worked as Uganda National U-20 team head coach.
