Former SC Villa striker joins Tanzania premier league side

Ugandan striker Ivan Bogere has completed a switch to Tanzanian Premier League side Tabora United.

According to Swift Sports Uganda reliably the former SC Villa striker has signed a 12 months contract with the Tanzanian side.

Bogere is a former player of Proline FC whom he helped gain top-flight promotion in the 2018/19 season. In the same season he scored 15 goals and scooped the golden boot.

He was part of the national U-20 squad that won silver at the U-20 AFCON in Mauritania in 2021, he won the golden boot with the Hippos in 2020 in Arusha Tanzania as well as the golden boot after scoring five goals in the AFCON Qualifiers.

Bogere is a former player of Wakiso Giants and UPL record champions SC Villa.

He is likely to make his debut on Sunday 18th August as Tabora United will be playing Simba SC, the home of fellow Ugandan striker Stephen Mukwala at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Tabora United was formerly known as Kitayosce FC and gained promotion to the top flight a season ago.

They finished 14th on the table last season and had to survive relegation through a play off.
