Three naked female protesters arrested at Parliament

Three young women have been arrested for staging a nude protest against corruption outside the Ugandan Parliament.

They are Praise Aloikin a Student of Law at Makerere University, Norah Tshetshe and Kemitoma Siperia Mollie, a former Guild leader.

The trio, who had stripped naked, marched towards the parliamentary building carrying placards and chanting slogans condemning the rampant corruption among Members of Parliament.

The protesters had also painted messages on their bodies in Uganda’s national colors, with phrases such as “Kiteezi was preventable,” “Anita Resign,” and a provocative statement, “Corruption fucked me so hard I am here to muon.”

The parliamentary police quickly intervened, arresting the women and confiscating their placards.

One was heard shouting, “Stop corruption, save the children, save the future,” while three female police officers dragged her away.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, confirmed that the three women are currently being held at Kampala Central Police Station on charges of being a common nuisance.

This protest comes at a time of mounting pressure on the government to address ongoing corruption scandals within various government sectors.
