Kitara FC kick started their title challenge with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Lugazi FC at the Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.

Fresh from scoring on his Uganda Cranes debut, Jude Ssemugabi served himself with a brace while Frank Zaga Tumwesigye scored the other to ensure victory for Brian Ssenyondo’s men.

Sadick Sempigi the Lugazi coach rushed for a change and brought on striker Yusuf Saaka Sharif for Moses Buga in the 36th minute.

Three minutes later, Lugazi were reduced to 10 men as debutant Rogers Atube was sent off for a second bookable offense on Fred Amaku.

Two minutes later, Ssemugabi doubled the lead with a close range tap in from Dennis Omedi’s brilliant assist.
