I wanted to frame Pastor Kayanja for UK Citizenship – Papa Cidy confesses

Former Leone Island singer and songwriter Papa Cidy (real name: Hamidu Sekyeru) has come out to confess that there were no truths in his social media post about Pastor Kayanja being homosexual.

Last week, the estranged singer threw social media into a frenzy with his “Come-out” post, in which he also tagged the Miracle Center Cathedral clergyman, Pastor Robert Kayanja.

“Am tired of hiding myself, it’s time to be out. Pastor Kayanja ebyaffe obimanyi. Miracle Center Cathedral,” the 38-year-old singer wrote.

The singer has since gone back on these statements, saying it was a frame job against Pastor Kayanja so he could gain favor with the UK authorities and expedite his citizenship on the grounds of persecution.

“I was just looking for papers,” confessed Papa Cidy.

“It was not anything major. I just wanted to use him to gain traction and also influence my documentation process. I will come around and apologize to him. I hope he will forgive me as a man of God.”

After Papa Cidy’s explosive post last week, images flooded the internet showing Pastor Kayanja with Papa Cidy when the latter got saved. Pastor Kayanja’s team has since commented that the church is a public place with an open-door policy and is always receiving individuals who would like to give up their old ways and accept the redemption of Jesus Christ.

All of this comes after backlash from the community, inclusive of the singer’s mother who says she was taken by surprise by his new-found attachments.

Pastor Kayanja has become an easy target for people peddling baseless LGBTQ+ misinformation which the Pastor says have heavily affected his family and ministry. Most recently, there has been extended back and forth with Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga of Christian Life Church in Bwaise who is being pinned for having hired young boys to accuse Pastor Kayanja of sodomizing them. The boys have since confessed to falsifying their information too and an investigation by Police busted the entire operation wide open with an elaborate phone matrix.

Another prominent case of blackmail that failed in its tracks was the smear campaign by Bayichi Mapengo and his accomplice David Asiimwe alias David Mukulu who claimed that Pastor Robert Kayanja had sodomised them. Further investigations into the claim found that they were baseless and just another hatchet job for a struggling young man trying to stay above water and sustain his poor habits. He was found to be lying and being paid off to peddle the falsehoods.

“You guys are cowards and fools for refusing such easy money. I am now rich and I won’t fear to say that Pastor Kayanja sodomized me after all I have been paid and expect to get more,” Mapengo boasted to Kyazze Nolan, one of his former acquaintances.

In May 2009, 6 alleged victims (Samson Mukisa, David Mukalazi, Brian Ntwatwa, Robson Matovu, Roonie Mutebi, and Brian Akansiima) claimed to have been raped by Kayanja. After a police investigation, the 6 young men withdrew their accusations and claimed to have received a sum of money to claim that they had been raped by Kayanja. In August 2009, the police confirmed the results of their investigation and decided to charge six other pastors with defamation. In October 2012, they were found guilty of defamation aimed at discrediting the reputation of Kayanja, were fined one million shillings each and sentenced to one hundred hours of community service. After a rejected appeal, the conviction was upheld in the High Court of Justice in February 2014. In December 2016, Mukisa, the principal witness in the 2009 case, went to Miracle Centre Cathedral and publicly confessed to having been used as a puppet by some pastors and legal practitioners in making false accusations against Kayanja. Kayanja forgave him.

“There was a heavy burden I wanted to unload off my chest. Some years ago I alleged that Pastor Kayanja had sodomized me, something which was not true. The truth is that he has never sodomized me. I now feel at peace,” said Mukisa in an interview.

Papa Cidy’s allegations are just the next edition of false accusations against Pastor Kayanja and one wonders, who keeps finding these people to sponsor their stories, and fail to agree on terms causing the accusers to retract their statements?
