Mutono makes history for Kyaggwe as Buddu storm to 7th Masaza Cup Final

•Buddu 1-1 Kyaddondo (Buddu progress 4-2 on aggregate


Kyaggwe prevailed to the 2024 Buganda Masaza Cup Final after a goalless stalemate with Buweekula in the return leg of their semi-final meeting.

Kyaggwe advanced to their maiden final thanks to their first leg triumph at home last Sunday.

This was the fourth meeting between the two sides this term following their 1-1 and goalless stalemates at the group stage.

To reach the Semifinal, Kyaggwe stunned two time competition winners Ssingo 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter-final.

Buweekula under the stewardship of Felix Ssekabuza were targeting a third Masaza Cup final, having reached the 2012 and 2022 Finals before.

They came into this tournament as one of the favorites but they will have to at least wait for another year if they are to triumph in the prestigious competition.

But for this year, Buweekula will have to battle for third place with Kyaddondo who were eliminated by Buddu 4-2 on aggregate in the other semi-final.

For Kyaggwe, under the stewardship of David Mutono their journey continues and will contest in the big game for the first time in history with 2016 and 2022 winners Buddu on 2nd November at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

Buddu will be featuring in their 7th Masaza Cup final having previously played the 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

This will also be their fourth Masaza Cup final at Namboole after 2015, 2016 and 2018.
