Taddeo Lwanga has penned down a message to Uganda Cranes fans following Uganda’s successful AFCON 2025 qualification campaign.
Uganda finished second in Group K with 13 points, one behind South Africa who beat South Sudan 3-0 in their final game.
Lwanga has thanked his teammates, coaches, Federation and fans for playing a tremendous role during Uganda’s qualification campaign.
“It is always an honor to wear the Uganda Cranes shirt and I carry it with great pride and respect. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to my teammates, the technical team and FUFA for their immense effort in helping the team qualify for AFCON 2025. To the fans, i can’t thank you enough for the unwavering support you have shown throughout the qualification campaign.”
On the challenges faced, the APR midfielder believes the team will improve for greater success
“Though there were challenges along the way where we fell short, myself included we are determined to improve and do better in future. Please continue standing with us as we strive for greater success.” Said Lwanga
During the qualification campaign, Uganda managed four wins, one draw and lost just once.
Uganda Cranes will be featuring in the biggest African football competition for a record eighth time with the previous seven occasions coming in 1962, 1968, 1974, 1976, 1978, 2017 and 2019.
