Former Minister of Information Technology and Communications Frank Tumwebaze has openly complained about the fast rate at which MTN data bundles elapse.
Tumwebaze expressed his discontent saying he bought a MTN data bundle and in less than a second he got zero balance before even browsing any site or opening any messaging app.
@mtnug plz explain under what circumstances does a customer buy bundles and in less than a second u get zero balance before even browsing any site or opening any messaging app ?
A collective national crusade against #Telecomfraud is urgent. We can't keep on forever like this!

Through his Twitter account, Tumwebaze said he usually buys bundles of 500MB or 1GB but it’s almost depleted in instant.
He dubbed it as a Telecom Fraud and requested the current Minister of Information Technology and Communications Hon. Chris Baryomunsi to put in place the communications tribunal as provided in the UCC Act.
A communications tribunal would enable the aggrieved customers to petition and get justice in such situations.
Tumwebaze was a Minister of Information Technology and Communications between June 2016 to December 2019 but failed to set up a Communications tribunal citing a shortage of judges in the Judiciary.
He is currently the Cabinet Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries as well as the Member of Parliament for Kibale County in Kamwenge District.
