Hajji Nadduli’s son Jakana found dead

News coming in is of the death of Sulaimani Jakana Nadduli son to former Minister without portfolio Hajji Naduli in the wee hours of early Monday morning.

Jakana was recently released from prison and had been receiving treatment from what is believed to be effects of torture he was subjected to when in detention.

He had been arrested by unknown security operatives and driven to an unknown detention center in the much feared drone.

After weeks of pleading by the family he was finally produced in court and later granted bail. His family says the outspoken Jakana was found dead at his home Monday morning.

NUP secretary general Rubongoya Lewis on his tweeter handle said he last spoke to Jakana on Saturday and he sounded fine.

“We’ve woken up to the terrible news of the untimely passing of our brother Jakaana Nadduli. The family says he was found dead at his home, a few days after he was released from prison. I spoke to him Saturday and he sounded fine. Terrible news. Inna lillahi wa inallah-e-raji’oon” wrote Rubongoya

Bobi Wine also tweeted,

“Just learnt of the sudden death of our brother Jakana Sulayiman Nadduli, the son of Al Hajj Nadduli. He was abducted a few days back, tortured and spent days under incommunicado detention. In March, he was involved in an accident, which he thinks was staged. Most unfortunate! https://t.co/rpXjc0a0NS

It should be recalled that Jakana also contested for MP of Nakaseke central and he lost out to NUP’s Mayanja Allan.

Details of Jakana’s death will be communicated as they continue to come in. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
