Police has confirmed that six have perished in the Rukiga District road accident that happened on Thursday evening.
The accident which involved a collision of two buses claimed six lives and over 30 were seriously injured.
The fatal accident happened at Satellite Hotel 2Kms from Muhanga trading centre along Rukiga-Mbarara Highway in Ntungamo district.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the accident involved two buses one with Rwanda registration number 798B of Volcano RAD Co and another one of Kenyan bus company with registration number KCU 054L.
The driver of the Volcano Bus Reg. No. RAD 798B destined for Kigali-Rwanda from Kampala changed lanes and crashed into Oxygen bus Reg. No. KCU 054L destined for Kenya’s capital, Nairobi from Kigali.
Both drivers died in the accident with the injured victims taken to Lotom Health Center in Muhanga Town council.
