Uganda Cranes lost to Ivory Coast 3-1 and automatically got eliminated from the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) at the group stage for the 6th time in row.
The Cranes needed to avoid defeat to break the jinx of qualifying past the group stages but surprisingly lost to Ivory Coast, a side that needed nothing but a win to qualify.
A number of Ugandans have reacted to the devasting elimination and quickly called for coach Micho’s head.
This is how the broken hearted Ugandans who hoped for better, reacted after Sunday evening’s defeat:
A good coach needs to be able to build a good team, a team with solid principles, clear mechanisms and cohesion, regardless of the innate quality of his players. I don't see that in Coach Micho with his old skool tactics. Uganda Cranes 🇺🇬 is good… Only needs a good coach.

So fufas favorate 'technical-tactical micho' can not get us out of a group of three African-local coaches? Honestly Uganda is reaping sour fruits from an overstayed-visonless football office! Resignation should shd start from the head! The Ugandan tax payer deserves better! pic.twitter.com/pYO5WY0mkS

All that was at display was a gamble of 11 disillusioned players and a coach that needs to understand mechanical football of 2000 no longer works in 2023! Pity those that had hope at all 😞 pic.twitter.com/da4QZivJmB

#UgandaCHAN2022over
What excuse this time? Senegal and Ivory Coast needed wins to qualify from the group and they did exactly that. Senegal 3-0 DR Congo; Ivory Coast 3-1 Uganda.Lest we forget, Uganda beat Senegal 1-0 and needed just a draw. So what's the story now? It's tiring. pic.twitter.com/oxQsjz3rOY— Aldrine Nsubuga SNR (@AldrineLive) January 22, 2023
Micho should be replaced. The reason Arsenal is doing well because it plays good football, Micho has never & will never be an architect of good football.

Despite the public outcry, it all seems FUFA and Magogo will be sticking to their man Micho the Serbian Wolf.
Uganda Cranes will be playing in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March against Tanzania.
