The Chief Magistrate’s court of Kanungu has ordered Fortunate Kyarikunda to refund Shs9.4M to her lover Richard Tumwine who paid school fees for her.
Kyarikunda refused to marry Tumwine who paid her school fees.
In 2015, Tumwine met Kyarikunda at Kiringa Primary School where she had gone for teaching practice and the two become lovers.
The two promised to marry in 2018 while at the same time, Tumwine agreed to support the Kyarikunda in her studies at the Law Development Centre (LDC) an exercise the coat him Shs9.4M.
Their introduction ceremony was slated for February 2022 but Kyarikunda turned down the proposal stating that Tumwine was too old for her.
After she had refused the proposal, Tumwine ran to court to seek justice.
On Wednesday, the Magistrate’s Grade One, Asanasio Mukobi ruled in favour of Tumwine and ordered Kyarikunda to refund Shs9.4M.
