I am not a big star, says Vipers’ Brazilian striker Giancarlo

Last week, Vipers unveiled experienced Brazilian striker Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez as their first signing in the current transfer window.

The little known striker has been tied down on a two year contract and he will go down in history as the first Brazilian to play in the Uganda premier league.

Giancarlo reveals that he is not a big star but ready to prevail in the famous Red and black Vipers Jersey

“I am not a big star. I’m here to play football. I like to work hard & l hope to score goals. What l can say for the centre backs in Uganda, I’m here. Nice to meet you.” He told the club media

He has in the past played for Sao Caetano, Santo Andre, Rio Branco among others in his native Brazil.

He has also played in Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh.

He is expected to bolster Vipers’ striking department that has Yunus Sentamu, Abubakar Lawal, Karim Ndugwa and Cromwell Rwothomio.

The Venoms have also signed midfielder David Bagoole and left back Richard Matovu while Abdul Karim Watambala extended his stay at the club.
